The Department of Orthopaedics of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Motol University Hospital provides diagnostic and therapeutic orthopaedic and traumatological care not only in the catchment area, but also in consultation activities throughout the country. As one of the few departments in the Czech Republic, our clinic has two main parts - paediatric and adult.
As part of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, the clinic provides comprehensive teaching of orthopaedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system within the framework of the Master of Medicine and Bachelor of Physiotherapy programmes. The clinic also provides postgraduate specialisation training in orthopaedics, including the organisation of orthopaedic strain examinations and attestations in orthopaedics.
The main aim of teaching is to transfer theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of orthopaedics to students so that they can use it in their subsequent practice in other fields, as the issue of pain and disorders of the musculoskeletal system is currently very topical and intersects with various fields of medicine.
